Bob Kramer crawls down a wall of sandbags in the basement of his son Mark's house in Central City, Iowa. The flooding waters of the Wapsipinicon River hover just below the top of the wall on the opposite side. Through the efforts of volunteers, including dozens of local students, the basement remained dry.
