Dr. Frank Stuart explains some of the physiology of the kidneys to me during my visit to Northwestern. Stuart is Division Chief of Transplant Surgery at Northwestern. He also ran through the procedure and what I could expect before, during and after the transplant.
This concluded my visit to the hospital. A few days later I was notified that I had passed all the tests and we could proceed with testing prospective donors. Needless to say, I was greatly relieved.
My concern could now shift from myself to my donors.
